Does the health of a nation affect its olympic performance (JMP)

Abstract:

Countries that participate in the Olympics, or more importantly countries that consistently win more medals devote numerous resources to maintain their standing within the world showing that they produce the best athletes. The purpose of this study is to explore how health indicators assist in predicting the ability of a country to win medals. Using data from the Olympic Committee, World Development Indicators and various sources, I explore the ability of certain health indicators to help in predicting winning medals at the Olympics.
